I\u2019m going to miss this country. The food is great. The people are nice. And it\u2019s where I proposed to my wonderful fianc\u00e9e! As tumultuous as its history has been since WWII, it\u2019s really come a long way. Hopefully, its kaiju culture will be continue to be centered on its own monsters and not <a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2022\/11\/17\/episode-72-record-all-monsters-vs-colossal\/\">fake ones<\/a>. Episode 92 (<em>The Host <\/em>vs. the Omni Viewer) is our last main episode in South Korea, so here are my notes on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nate secretly wants to start a toku politics show. He\u2019s determined to prove to the <em>Daily Wire <\/em>hosts\u2014especially the <em>other<\/em> Matt Walsh\u2014that nerd culture is legitimate and not populated entirely by smelly weirdos with no social skills. That\u2019s just 90 percent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The better question is, who is the Batman and who is the Robin between us, Nate? We all know that answer\u2026Robbie. \ud83d\ude1b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s a good leader who knows how to delegate. Plus, I\u2019m friends with Sir Lex. We hang out on the same steampunk enthusiast message boards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not that damaged? Did you forget what <a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/20\/episode-82-epilogue-super-infra-dan\/\">that fat spider<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/28\/episode-87-epilogue-monster-mash\/\">Yongary<\/a> did to Uber-Moguera?!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least Lex understands my delicate jerry-rigging. It was rated PG-13 and starred Dan Aykroyd, Kim Basinger, and Jon Lovitz. Fun fact: a South Korean Baskin-Robbins named an ice cream flavor after this movie, \u201cMom is an Alien.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I got caught by the Trope once. I don\u2019t want to talk about it. He\u2019s a weirdo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the record, I\u2019d never sell Nate out\u2026or would I?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The species of fish that eats off of sharks\u2019 skin is <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Remora\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the remora<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You survive a war (in space) and see if you don\u2019t have \u2018Nam, er, Venus flashbacks!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And I do tie half my brain behind my back to make it fair\u2026metaphorically speaking. It\u2019d require too much surgery too often, otherwise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I got a text from Jessica, and she says she\u2019s not going anywhere near Rita\u2019s wand! \u201cThe last thing I need is a giant Baka!\u201d she said.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I\u2019m pretty sure Nate has given population of Seoul before, but it\u2019s estimated as of 2024 to be 10,004,840.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can\u2019t be a fan when you\u2019re a producer? That\u2019s certainly true in Hollywood.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let\u2019s not talk about the Mighty Peking Man. It\u2019s still a sore spot for Kaguya.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Up next, we have a huge panel discussion of <em>Godzilla vs. Hedorah <\/em>(aka <em>Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster<\/em>) for \u201cGodzilla Redux\u201d with Ben Avery, Daniel DiManna (again), and Matt and Gratton of Giant Monster BS. Who\u2019d have thought this weirdo film would be this popular! Then we wrap up our South Korean coverage with a solo bonus episode on <em>War of the God Monsters <\/em>(aka <em>The Flying Monster<\/em>). Then, as Nate nervously mentioned, we go north to catch <em>Pulgasari <\/em>with Tomi Trembath of Giant-Sized Violence and Transcending Comics.
