If you\u2019d like to see what we did, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NasaJimmy\/status\/1755649455628394842?s=20\">my post (tweet?) on Twit-X<\/a> (which, as Nate says, sounds like the name of a <em>Star Wars <\/em>character). Regardless, once we returned to our mecha-home away from home, I listened to the AOD (audio on demand) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/01\/5th-wednesday-bonus-episode-15-the-abominable-snowman-1957-ft-matt-walsh-patreon\/\">bonus episode on <em>The Abominable Snowman <\/em>(1957)<\/a>, and I have some notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I was almost fooled by Matt\u2019s impression of Matt. Kaguya, on the other hand, well, she needed me to explain some things. She\u2019s still more perceptive than the internet, though. I\u2019m amazed we weren\u2019t bombarded by hate mail. That says a lot about the Kaiju Lovers. \ud83d\ude0a<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I missed pizza?! (bleep)it!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The (in)famous <em>Yeti<\/em> episode is #55, which you can listen to <a href=\"http:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2021\/12\/23\/episode-55-yeti-giant-of-the-20th-century-feat-travis-alexander-and-daniel-dimanna\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cFaclemped.\u201d Ha! I\u2019m adding that to my daily vocabulary. It\u2019s one of several words that Matt should submit to a word-of-the-day calendar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cBaron Fronkensteen.\u201d Now, I\u2019d pay to see Gene Wilder play the Hammer version of the character.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Cushing will always be Tarkin to me, too. I grew up in America and Japan in the decades leading up to <em>Star Wars<\/em>, so I didn\u2019t catch these British films.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Curse of Frankenstein <\/em>grossed $8 million overall, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Curse_of_Frankenstein#Box_office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which was 70 times its production budget<\/a>. <em>The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Beast_from_20,000_Fathoms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">grossed $5 million<\/a> against a $200,000 budget.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Normally, I throw shade at John, but he and I are mending things now. I do miss the cross-platform flame wars, though.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Creature_from_the_Black_Lagoon#Sequels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sequels to <em>The Creature from the Black Lagoon<\/em><\/a> were released in 1955 (<em>Revenge of the <\/em>Creature) and 1956 (<em>The Creature Walks Among <\/em>Us), and not the \u201860s, Nate! Do your research! I\u2019d have caught that live.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The lowest British movie certificate at the time was <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_British_film_certificates#1951%E2%80%931970\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cU\u201d for \u201cunrestricted.\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tucker is no Nick Adams! My spirit will beat yours!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can we hire Matt for the opening? \u201cCures what ails ya?\u201d \u201cThe diabetus?\u201d The man has a career in commercials waiting to happen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Untamed Youth<\/em> wasn\u2019t an Ed Wood movie: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Untamed_Youth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Untamed_Youth<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I can confirm the composer of this film is Humphrey Searle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cScumbucketry.\u201d Again, word-of-the-day calendar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I couldn\u2019t find a \u201cChandler the Magician,\u201d but I did find <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chandu_the_Magician_(film)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chandu the Magician<\/a><\/em>. It\u2019s a 1932 American film, though. Perhaps Mr. Guest misremembered?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nate does use a Howard Hawks style of podcasting. Trust me, we\u2019ve gotten complaints about it. I try my best to fix it in postproduction for the podcast editions of episodes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I do have a strange appreciation for Caroline Munro, er, <em>Starcrash<\/em>. It truly is the second-best <em>Star Wars <\/em>knockoff. \ud83d\ude1b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can we trademark \u201cRaquel Welch Effect\u201d?
