With the first big film\ndiscussion episode next week\u2014which begins our chronological coverage of King\nKong\u2019s filmography with the 1933 classic\u2014I thought now would be a good\nopportunity to introduce you all to the core group of Monster Island Tourists\nwho will be guest-hosting with me on the podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ladies, gentlemen, and kaiju\nlovers of all ages, meet Nick, Tim, Joe, and Joy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Hayden<\/a> and Timothy Deal are the co-hosts of Derailed Trains of Thought<\/a>, the premiere podcast on storytelling for the creator and the consumer. I\u2019ve known both of them since my college days. Nick is an accomplished writer (and you should be reading everything he writes!), and Tim studied film in grad school. I\u2019ve collaborated with them on several writing projects like Children of the Wells<\/a><\/em> and, as I\u2019ve mentioned before<\/a>, I\u2019ve been a frequent guest on their podcast. Joe and Joy Metter are\nanother pair of longtime friends of mine. I also met Joe back in my college\ndays. Joe loves anime and Mystery Science\nTheatre 3000<\/em> (which is probably why we got along as well as we did), and\nJoy thinks she lives in a musical half the time and will randomly break out\ninto song. The two of them just celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These four will be on the\nshow most often, but they won\u2019t be the only ones. Here\u2019s a tentative list of\nthe other Tourists who will be joining me during the podcast\u2019s extended first\nseason:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bex Smith (host of the Redeemed<\/a> Otaku<\/a> podcast)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a few other\nnames on my back-up list and my season two list. It\u2019ll never be boring on this\nshow with this lively group of newcomers and veteran fans!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
