That\u2019s what happens when you have multiple guests on the show for as <em>huge<\/em> a film as <em>Pacific Rim<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2022\/10\/08\/episode-70-the-drifters-vs-pacific-rim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">episode 70<\/a>). I was surprisingly silent because I was taking notes and enjoying the conversation. What can I say? The Drifters are some of my favorite guests we\u2019ve featured. So, here are my notes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>My opinions on Nate\u2019s promotion\u2026are not safe for public consumption.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reb is a queen who slays. I don\u2019t normally like using that phrase, but for her, I\u2019ll make an exception.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I WILL rant about that Bouncing Betty! Reb\u2019s design is excellent. It\u2019s rare that such a large number of influences could be combined into one machine without looking like an ugly mess. The Pan-Pacific Defense Corps should definitely hire her for future designs to combat the Kaiju menace. While I will say Vulcan cannons are a classic and a standard mecha armament, additional weapons would improve the design. Overall, it\u2019s not as beautiful as Gipsy Danger (because, yes, I\u2019d marry that robot, if it was a woman\u2014although, probably not now), but it\u2019s a piece of work in the best possible way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I was remarkably silent for reasons I\u2019ve already outlined above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You caught it, Nate, because I trained you well. And no, J.R., you will hear more from me!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>#CancelTheApocalypse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I knew how to say it\u2026whatever it was. It\u2019d been too long since that broadcast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those \u201cYes, quites\u201d did concern me.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I want what J.R. has\u2026whatever that is.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s not a rhesus monkey but a rhesus macaque, which has six to nine subspecies native to South, Central, and Southeast Asia. Here\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rhesus_macaque\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least I don\u2019t read comics all day at work like J.R.! I prefer technical manuals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I had some Clonaid once. I don\u2019t want to talk about it. It\u2019d make Nate\u2019s \u201ctransporter accident\u201d look like a traffic ticket.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The answer to which U.S. states have anti-cloning laws is a bit more multifaceted than I expected. Let me explain:<ul><li>Federal law doesn\u2019t prohibit human cloning. (Don\u2019t tell Cameron Winter).<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Eight states prohibit cloning for any reason: Arizona, Arkansas, Nate\u2019s home state of Indiana, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Virginia.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Four states prohibit state funding of human cloning for any reason: Arizona, Indiana, Michigan, Louisiana.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Ten states have \u201cclone and kill\u201d laws, which prevent clones embryo implantation for childbirth but allow these embryos to be destroyed (California, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, Rhode Island).<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Two states include \u201chuman cloning\u201d as a practice health professionals can\u2019t be force to participate in because of healthcare rights of conscience laws (Idaho and Louisiana).<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn more here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knobbe.com\/news\/2018\/06\/law-and-human-cloning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.knobbe.com\/news\/2018\/06\/law-and-human-cloning<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watch your mouth, J.R.!
