It\u2019s funny how Damon took a throwaway comment from a livestream and made it into an episode. <em>Little Shop of Horrors <\/em>remains one of the few kaiju musicals, at least on film. There\u2019s a <em>King Kong<\/em> Broadway show, but the music is mediocre and you stay for the life-size animatronic ape. So I hear. I haven\u2019t been able to visit home in New York to see it\u2026mostly because I was in jail, and now I\u2019m globetrotting as a kaiju wrangler. Yep, my storied life continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, about that <a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/23\/episode-67-little-shop-of-horrors-1986-ft-damon-noyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tiny store filled with scary things<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I have firsthand experience with alien plants. You know how Biollante dissolved and flew into space? Well, I followed her trail in an FTL ship I\u2019d\u2026borrowed from the Garogas (long story; I don\u2019t want to talk about it). This led me to an unknown planet a few hundred lightyears away. Biollante had since spawned several generations of seedlings and was living peacefully with her \u201cchildren.\u201d (Don\u2019t tell Dr. Dourif. I refuse to be that weirdo\u2019s space Uber). I landed to take some photos, but some of her offspring attacked me and broke my camera. I barely escaped.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I do a lot of secret tours, Nate\u2026ones I <em>can\u2019t<\/em> talk about (not <em>\u201cdon\u2019t want to\u201d<\/em>). Double-hush-hush-top-secret stuff. I don\u2019t want to have to kill you. Or maybe I do? \ud83d\ude1b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My life is now complete: I gave a badge of honor to Damon. May he wear it well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are crazy, Nate. I\u2019ve known this since we met.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I\u2019ve taught you well, Damon, correcting Nate like that. Just call me Jimbo Kenobi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I have to sanitize the mics after every broadcast. That\u2019s why no one ever gets sick from COVID or Nate\u2019s cooties when they guest host on the show. You\u2019re fine, Damon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cFrank Oz is frankly\u2026\u201d Ha!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The other optical effect was in the theatrical ending, Nate. It\u2019s when Seymour kills Audrey II.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apparently, I need to get Nate noise-making toys for him to use on the show for his birthday. But I\u2019m not sure our listeners are prepared for that.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or are Damon and Raymund the same person?! (<em>Dun-dun-DUN!<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I don\u2019t want <em>anything<\/em> cooked up by Dr. Dourif, let alone eat it. I\u2019m already a \u201cfun guy.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/VGg_HTls8ME\/hqdefault.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clover makes me and others sick because he\u2019s UG-LY! He might be the worst-looking kaiju on the Island!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And now for my notes on <em>S.O.B.<\/em>, er, <em>Son of Blob<\/em>, er, <em>Beware! The Blob<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/30\/bonus-episode-12-beware-the-blob-ft-travis-alexander\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bonus Episode 12<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I still think both of you have cases. For what, I don\u2019t remember. I\u2019ve slept once since this broadcast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travis, the original film was shot in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and the towns of Chester Springs, Downingtown, <em>Phoenixville<\/em>, and Royersford.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14 years, Travis. That\u2019s how long after the original this was (1958 to 1972).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The kitten\u2019s name is Sam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making a citizen\u2019s arrest is both less complicated and more complicated than I thought.
