I have metric ton of notes from past episodes\u2014or so it feels. But contractual obligations must be fulfilled! My New Year\u2019s resolution is to get my blogs caught up. To save time, I\u2019ll be sharing the notes I jotted down during the broadcast and including a PDF of Nate\u2019s uncut notes. I won\u2019t be editing out the portions he discussed on each episode; not until I get caught up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But given that I was <em>in jail<\/em> for a while, I had nothing better to do than compile these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, bear with me, starting with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/monsterislandfilmvault.com\/index.php\/2022\/04\/07\/episode-60-john-lemay-vs-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">episode 60 (<em>THEM!<\/em>)<\/a><\/strong>, which featured by my former flame war nemesis, John LeMay:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Matango boosters are important, guys\u2014unless you\u2019re Dr. Dourif. That weirdo is an example of immersion therapy gone horribly wrong. I\u2019m amazed he isn\u2019t a supervillain yet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s \u201cMeganulon\u201d or \u201cMeganuron,\u201d John. But I can understand. It\u2019s the \u201cL\u201d vs. \u201cR\u201d pronunciation confusion with Japanese. But I still expected better from you!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I hate Matango brain fog! It\u2019s the worst! Trust me, I know. I had to tend to those psychedelic mutants once on Halloween a few years ago. All I got out of it was a vision of Kumi Mizuno\u2026at least, I thought it was her. Or was it a premonition of Kaguya?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Beast from 20,000 Fathoms<\/em> and <em>Gorgo<\/em> did, in fact, have the same director: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eug%C3%A8ne_Louri%C3%A9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eug\u00e8ne Louri\u00e9<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I once had to battle a Kamacuras with an American flamethrower. That was mostly because the Russian flamethrower I was given first didn\u2019t work. And because Monster Island zookeeper, Ricky, didn\u2019t know what he was doing. Who hires these people? He\u2019s gotten better, but I\u2019d rather not wrangle monsters with dangerous equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cJapanese\u201d not \u201ckaiju,\u201d Nate. Professional radio host there.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apparently, <a href=\"https:\/\/allanimalsguide.com\/do-ants-go-to-war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ants <em>do<\/em> go to war<\/a>. They fight over territory and to defend their queen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nate is Russian spy confirmed. That accent is too good. Have some fun in the sun in a Siberian gulag! Got a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aleksandr_Solzhenitsyn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solzhenitsyn<\/a> book you can read?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I did some digging, but I didn\u2019t see anything about the ant puppets from <em>THEM!<\/em> still existing today. I could be wrong, though. We have the real things on the Island, but I\u2019d rather deal with a prop. Speaking of which\u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I killed a giant fire ant once. I don\u2019t want to talk about it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Michael does have an explosive temper. If you heard what I recorded of him off the air\u2026more people than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/Godzilla101\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaiju Kim<\/a> would cancel him!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I meant to fact check John\u2019s Trinity nuclear test story involving his grandparents\u2026but I forgot what I was fact-checking, and I don\u2019t have time to re-listen to the episode.
