Hello, Kaiju Lovers! The Monster Island World Tour moves into Europe with a stop in Oslo, Norway, to discuss the 2010 found footage kaiju film, Trollhunter (not to be confused with Netflix’s Troll from 2022—we already covered that). Nate is joined by his college chum, the founder of Nerd Chapel, Eric Anderson, to dive into a movie that says Christians need not apply to be Norway’s hunter of trolls (and we don’t mean the internet variety). That’s just one of the many aspects of this unique film that these two Christian nerds get into. Prepare yourself for a heaping dose of theology and folklore! For the Toku Topic, Nate delves into the “monster masts” controversy surrounding the construction of electrical lines in rural Norway, which helped inspire the film.
